Born and raised in Los Angeles, I completed my undergrad in Psychology at Cal State Northridge. I chose to complete my Master is Social Work at The University of Hawaii, Manoa. I figured it was a great opportunity to get the chance to experience living elsewhere. It was a wonderful growth experience and Hawaii will always be home for me on top of LA.
I have been licensed since 2009 - first in Hawaii and now in California. I have been in Private Practice since 2016. My experience spans from working with children, veterans to now primarily with parents who are adjusting to overall parenthood or within the perinatal period.
On top of my passion and specialization for the perinatal population, I work with BIPOC clients and the range of adjustments and experiences our communities encounter in life. I am second generation with parents from Latin America. I know the challenges that many of us come up against as we navigate being 200 percenters and mesh two worlds that make us who we are. Many of my clients want support in navigating parenthood, careers and family dynamics and learning to create a balance between our two worlds.
Before establishing my private practice, most of my work was community-based -- providing services in the community. I believe there is no better way to make a difference than getting to know the community and people you hope to support. My love for doing community work continues and I volunteer as a Postpartum Support International (PSI) Coordinator and also previously volunteered as the President of the PSI California Chapter Board of Directors.
